The Working Paper (N° 14) that we present in this new edition takes on the challenge of connecting two of its most outstanding identifying features: to be a space of reflexive openness about ongoing social processes, and at the same time, to open up as a territory of academic expressivity of a practice that cannot be conceived without bodies situated in these same processes.  Thus, this issue brings together a series of short texts, produced “in the heat of events”, as a way of broadening visibility and opening up questions about the recent events that have taken place since the unleashing of the National Strike in Colombia (2021).
The texts presented can therefore be thought of as clues to the ways in which the skin of the social body is woven, and as a way of thinking about our reflexive practice as a component of it. When the authors speak to us of the impotence, of the lack of fear of the young people who went out to march, or speak to us of the renewed marks that repression imprints on the skin, we must also find there a message about what unites us, about what hurts us, and how this constitutes – just at the beginning – what we will be able to do. El presente Documento de Trabajo Nº13 es escrito por quienes participaron en la realización de una etnografía virtual enmarcada en el Proyecto de investigación titulado “Normalización, estructuración social y políticas de las sensibilidades. Córdoba y Buenos Aires 2018-2020”.

En este escrito se proponen algunas lecturas sobre la etnografía virtual, sus características, su aplicación y un acercamiento a los primeros resultados. A partir de intereses propios, y desde la experiencia individual y colectiva de investigación, las y los autores exponen tanto la apropiación de la práctica y de los contenidos, como sus inquietudes, sus dudas y sus experiencias.

El presente Documento de Trabajo N° 12,  está escrito por David Altheide, Massimo Cerulo, Maximiliano Korstanje, Fabio La Rocca, Paulo Henrique Martins, Desirée Poets, Jaime Preciado Coronado, Adrián Scribano, Geoffrey Skoll, Fred Evans.

En el contexto de la pandemia del COVID-19, un evento desastroso ocurrió en los Estados Unidos: el brutal asesinato de George Floyd. Este evento provocó numerosas reacciones de indignación, tristeza, rechazo y fatiga moral. Miles de personas en todo Estados Unidos, en Europa, en América Latina y en el resto del mundo, se manifestaron contra el racismo en el contexto de la pandemia más extendida de los últimos siglos. Cientos de miles de personas se sensibilizaron, una vez más en lo que va del siglo, ante los excesos “programados” de un capitalismo que solo puede responder con la muerte.

En este marco, un grupo de amigos y colegas decidieron pronunciar algunas palabras como reflexiones prematuras sobre lo que sucedió, su importancia, y su significado en contexto.
El Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Sociológicos (CIES) propuso preparar este Documento de trabajo que ahora me complace presentar. Más allá del refinamiento estilístico y la atención editorial, lo que se presenta aquí son reflexiones de académicos de tres continentes sobre lo que sucedió. Continuando con el dictum crítico de todas las Ciencias Sociales, los trabajos presentados aquí, breves pero incisivos, son el testimonio de cómo son necesarios múltiples puntos de vista y las diversas formas de ver el mundo para elaborar una crítica común de todo tipo de injusticia y todo tipo de desigualdad

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, a disastrous event occurred in the United States, the death of George Floyd, the brutal murder of George Floyd. This event provoked numerous reactions of outrage, sadness, rejection and moral fatigue. Thousands of people throughout the United States, in Europe, in Latin America and across the rest of the world, demonstrated against racism in the context of the most widespread pandemic of recent centuries. Hundreds of thousands of people sensitized themselves, once again so far this century, to the “programmed” excesses of a capitalism that can only respond with death.

In this framework, a group of friends and colleagues decided to deliver some words as untimely reflections on what happened, on its significance, on its meaning in context.
The Center for Research and Sociological Studies proposed to prepare this Working Document which I am now pleased to present. Beyond stylistic refinement and editorial care, what is presented here are reflections of academics from three continents on what happened. Continuing the critical “dictum” of all the social sciences, the works presented here, brief but incisive, are the testimony of how multiple views and the diverse ways of seeing the world are necessary to elaborate a common criticism of all kinds of injustice and all kinds of inequality.
