Presentation:
As we approach the end of the second decade of this new century, the complexity assumed by societies continues to attract the efforts of social sciences, at times, lost in disciplinary labyrinths framed with certainties constructed in and for «other epochs». However, they arise, often in the margins and intersections that give life to diversity and the pluriparadigmatic feature of social knowledge in our days, some certainties regarding an agenda of emerging problems. Thus, in the last 30 years, academics from Europe and Latin America have been questioning the production, management and re-production of social sensibilities, taking into account the connections between «emotions, body and society». These investigations arise from different fields, such as education, health, the production of knowledge, the mass media, entertainment, sexuality, public policies, the world of work and the market, just to name some of those that have the greatest visibility. Thus, the question about sensibilities points to the core of the structuring processes of a global society, re-configuring both the construction of objects and reinventing research strategies.

In this context, the Center for Research and Sociological Studies (CIES) and RELACES (Latin American Journal of Studies on Body, Emotions and Society) decided to organize since 2016, a series of meetings in Paris with researchers interested in the studies of sensibilities. Two meetings have been held: the first of them, «Sensibilities at the beginning of the 21st century» took place at URMIS – Paris Diderot in 2016, and the second meeting, «Proximities and distances in contemporary societies: Work, discrimination, public policies and emotions «, was held in the» Institute of the Americas» in 2017. It’s precisely during this meeting that the proposal to create the International Network of Sociology of Sensibilities (RedISS) arises. Continuing with the above-mentioned debates, the organization of the Meeting «Social Sciences, Sensibilities and Societies» is proposed in the city of Toronto, Canada, on July 13 and 14, 2018.

Comité organizador:
– Adrián Scribano
– Jeanie Herrera
– Luis van Isschot

Panelistas confirmados:
Luis van Isschot (Canadá)
Begoña Enguix (España)
Paulo Henrique Martins (Brasil)
Gabriela Vergara (Argentina)
Jorge Duperre (Argentina)
Angélica De Sena (Argentina)
Margarita Camarena (México)
Juan Antonio Roche (España)
Pedro Lisdero (Argentina)
Freddy Timmerman (Chile)
Jeanie Herrera (Guatemala)
Brenda Araceli (México)
Alice Poma (México)
Luis Herrera (Ecuador)

“Ciencias Sociales, Sensibilidades y Sociedades” 13-14 de Julio, Toronto, Canadá III CIES-RELACES-Paris MEETING I REDISS MEETING «Social Sciences, Sensibilities and Societies» July 13- 14 Toronto, Canada Organizan: – Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Sociológicos (CIES) – Revista Latinoamericana de Estudios sobre Cuerpos, Emociones y Sociedad (RELACES) – Red Internacional de Sociología de las Sensibilidades – […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

1

post-2292","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-noticias
["GET
